Terms of Service

Effective date: September 7, 2026

The Short Version

Exhibit A is software that formats your own call and message records into clear PDF exhibits. It is not a law firm, it does not give legal advice, and it can't promise a court will accept anything or that your case will go a certain way. Paid plans are billed through Stripe, subscriptions renew until you cancel, and every plan carries a 30-day money-back guarantee. By using Exhibit A you agree to the terms below.

1. What Exhibit A Is (and Isn't)

  • The service:Exhibit A (“the Service”) means the Exhibit A Mac application, the browser version at getexhibita.com/app, and the getexhibita.com website. The Service reads call-history and message data that you already have — on your Mac or in an iPhone backup you provide — and presents it as calendars, statistics, and exportable PDF exhibits.
  • Not legal advice:Exhibit A is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or representation. Nothing in the Service, on this website, or in our emails is a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
  • No guarantee of admissibility or outcome: Whether an exhibit is admissible, how it should be introduced, and what weight it carries are decided by courts under rules that vary by jurisdiction. We make no promise that any exhibit will be accepted, or that using the Service will produce any particular legal result.
  • Your records, your responsibility: The Service formats data you supply. You are responsible for its accuracy and completeness, for any notes or annotations you add, and for reviewing every export before you rely on it.

2. License Keys and Your License

  • No account required: The free tier needs no account. A paid plan is delivered as a license key sent to the email address you give at checkout.
  • Personal and non-transferable: Each purchase provides one license key for the personal use of the purchaser (or, on the Attorney tier, one seat at the purchasing firm). Keys may not be shared, sold, published, or transferred. We may disable a key that is being shared or used in breach of these terms.
  • What you get: Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You keep the PDFs and other exports you create; they are yours.
  • Keep your key safe:Store your license key somewhere you can find it — you need it to activate the app and to manage billing at getexhibita.com/manage. Email us if you lose it.

3. Plans and Billing

  • Current prices: Pro is $14 per month or $79 per year. Lifetime is $149 one-time. The Case Pass is $39 one-time. The Attorney tier is $49 per month per seat (founding pricing may apply as shown on the attorneys page). All prices are in U.S. dollars and may change for future purchases; a change never affects a subscription you already hold without notice.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically: Monthly and yearly plans, including the Attorney tier, renew at the end of each billing period and your payment method is charged until you cancel. Cancel any time, self-serve, at getexhibita.com/manage. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Case Pass: A one-time payment that unlocks all Pro features for 90 days from purchase. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel; when it ends, the app returns to the free tier.
  • Lifetime: A one-time payment for a perpetual license to the current major version of the Service, including the updates we release for that version. We intend to keep shipping improvements, but a perpetual license is not a promise that the Service or its servers will be maintained forever.
  • Payments: Checkout and billing are handled by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.

4. Refunds

Every paid plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. Email support@getexhibita.com within 30 days of your purchase and we'll refund it in full. After 30 days, subscription payments are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time to stop future charges.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service on data you do not have the right to access, or on another person's device or backup without their authorization or a lawful basis.
  • Alter, fabricate, or misrepresent records and present the result as genuine, or otherwise use the Service to deceive a court, a party, or anyone else.
  • Share license keys, circumvent licensing or watermarks, or reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell the Service.
  • Attack, overload, or interfere with the Service, its license server, or this website.
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service — its software, design, exhibit templates, name, and logo — is owned by Exhibit A and protected by copyright and other laws. These terms give you a license to use it, not ownership of it. Your data and the exports you generate remain yours; we claim no rights to them. If you send us feedback or feature ideas, you allow us to use them without obligation to you.

7. Privacy

Your call history and messages stay on your own computer — the Mac app and the browser version both process everything locally, and the only thing ever sent to our server is a license key for validation. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will read every device, backup, or operating-system version, that every record on your device will be captured, or that any exhibit will be admitted or persuasive in any proceeding.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Exhibit A and its founder will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, lost profits, or adverse legal outcome, arising out of or related to the Service or these terms. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold Exhibit A harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable expenses (including attorney's fees) that arise from your breach of these terms, your violation of the law, or your use of data you were not entitled to use.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note it in the app or by email if we have your address. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time, and cancel any subscription at getexhibita.com/manage. We may suspend or revoke a license key that is being shared or used in breach of these terms. Sections 1, 4, 6, and 8 through 13 survive termination.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of [State], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in [State], and you consent to their jurisdiction.
